As the WWE Crown Jewel 2024 showdown looms, Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER launched into an intense verbal exchange on the latest WWE RAW episode.
This verbal duel happened live, with each wrestler trading barbs during the October 14th broadcast night.
Cody highlighted that the venue was the genesis of the “We Want Cody” campaign, right before GUNTHER’s dramatic entrance.
GUNTHER, known as The Ring General, voiced his respect for Cody Rhodes, yet pointed out Cody’s quest to be the universally adored hero plays a part in his ongoing conflict with Kevin Owens.
GUNTHER indicated that he hopes Cody will rectify this situation, as he wants to face a fully prepared American Nightmare.
Cody responded by asserting his perceived weakness by GUNTHER as his ultimate strength, reminding GUNTHER that he’s never had to fight against him in the ring previously.
Furthermore, Cody reminded him and the audience that he was the one who overcame the most formidable champion in the history of WWE.
A show of sportsmanship ended this verbal jousting as Cody offered his hand to GUNTHER, who reciprocated with a handshake.

In another segment from WWE RAW, Bron Breakker talked about his surprising attack on Jey Uso from the previous week.
While Breakker had demonstrated respect for Jey earlier, he launched a unexpected attack on him following Jey’s WWE Intercontinental Championship defense against Xavier Woods.
During the October 14th episode, Breakker’s video package gave insights into his reasons for targeting Jey.
In the video, Breakker clarified that he had extended his hand to Uso in acknowledgement of his triumphant victory, only to feel disrespected by Uso’s subsequent actions. He differentiates their legacy as second-generation stars and pointed out that he doesn’t lean on his family’s reputation, unlike Uso.
Breakker firmly declared his intention to vie for the title and boldly stated that Jey’s renowned family would not be in a position to rescue him.
