Cody Rhodes says GUNTHER and Chad Gable got a standing ovation backstage following their Intercontinental Title match that headlined this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW. GUNTHER was able to defeat Gable and is now the longest Intercontinental Champion of all time.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Dale Jr. Download” podcast, The American Nightmare commented on the standing ovation the two men received in Gorilla following their bout. He said,
“If you get a standing ovation in Gorilla, you’ve made it. Last night [Monday], Chad Gable and GUNTHER had this amazing main event, and they came back and there’s nothing we can do but clap or that piece of business.”
He continued, “Chad did amazing last night [Monday] and I do hope that Chad finds the Intercontinental Championship. His daughter wanted to see that and have that moment. I felt bad because they sent me out after to raise his hand and I’ve got to do the dark match … he is an amazing athlete.”
GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship reign currently sits at 455 days.
