Cody Rhodes recently participated in an episode of the “Sneaker Shopping” podcast hosted by Complex, where he spoke about WWE superstar Roman Reigns’ special Nike line for WrestleMania 40. Additionally, he offered his perspective on why fellow wrestler Jey Uso deserves his personalized sneaker line.
Regarding Reigns’ personal shoe line, Rhodes suggested that the idea felt perfectly suited to Reigns and his faction, The Bloodline. He highlighted that The Bloodline has a dedicated fanbase, and these sneakers fit right into their world. He also shared how he tried to grab attention backstage should the opportunity arise for additional wrestler-themed shoes, jokingly standing in front of his poster whenever influential figures were around.
Rhodes advocated for Jey Uso to have his labeled shoe line, proposing an Air Force–specific version for him. He observed that unlike other wrestlers, Uso doesn’t just wear his sneakers during casual moments like airport visits and run-ins, but also uses them in wrestling moves, such as his superkick.
Elsewhere, Lexis King recently featured on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast to discuss his current stint in WWE NXT. He opined that regardless of having the NXT Champion title or not, he is the King of NXT as people tune in to watch him, and his presence boosts ratings.
King sees himself continuing his NXT journey as he claimed his place in the circle since his arrival. He also mentioned being motivated to win the NXT Title to justifiably claim the title of NXT King. Holding the top belt would bolster his wrestling legacy and make him more marketable and dignified, emphasized by King.
