In a recent feature on “The Babyfaces Podcast,” the celebrated WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, candidly shared his thoughts on his match arrangements post his triumphant victory against Roman Reigns at the monumental WrestleMania 40 (Night Two) event.
Highlights of the podcast are detailed below:
Addressing the topic of his intended match composition after securing the championship, Cody said, “My primary goal was for the bouts to exemplify a distinct era for the title. Although, I’m not entirely sure if my match with Logan [Paul] managed to accomplish that, but I can confidently say the initial face-off with AJ did. It effectively showcased what my reign as champion would be like. I believe it’s crucial not to draw parallels with what Roman achieved, as his era was unparalleled – leading WWE through the COVID phase and holding the championships for an extended period.”
Speaking about carving his unique pathway, Cody opined, “I am focused on establishing it as my exclusive domain. Undoubtedly, if WrestleMania XL can be considered the zenith, then it was indeed an incredible high point. However, I seem to have a flair for predicting where the industry is heading, and I firmly believe that there are many more exciting times ahead.”
Lastly, the note shared that Rhodes would be putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against AJ Styles, a week from now at the highly-anticipated WWE event, Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
