Cody Rhodes openly acknowledges John Cena as a major influence in his wrestling career. Recently in an interview with Complex, Rhodes admitted to shaping a significant part of his professional trajectory in the image of Cena’s approach, in order to attain his current stature.
Expressing his thoughts, Rhodes stated, “I modeled a lot of my career after the man who was the lead dog when I was here initially, and that being John Cena. Hey, if you want the spot, if you want the ball, you have to work to my level’ – words that you’d often hear from Cena in interviews. They were filled with authenticity, and at the time, nobody could compete. To be the WWE Champion, representing WWE at all times is a given.”
Looking ahead, Rhodes is set to join forces with Roman Reigns to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the upcoming WWE Bad Blood 2024 this coming Saturday.
Meanwhile in the artistic world, AEW/ROH veteran, Dustin Rhodes, has been commemorated with a stunning new painting by artist Rob Schamberger. Details and an image of the striking piece can be seen below:
