Cody Rhodes may have his face painted on the poster for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, but that doesn’t mean he’ll don warpaint for this month’s pay-per-view.
At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Rhodes, alongside Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso will face the Judgment Day inside the titular double-cage structure.
Speaking to “Gabby AF,” Cody was asked if he may replicate the Survivor Series: WarGames poster for the show. He said,
“I think as far as gear goes, I kind of let Sandra, Sandra kind of just does her thing now. We’ve grown so much that the American Nightmare aspect of it…we have brand guidelines now. ‘Hey, the shoulder scales have to be there.’ She’s got this list of things she knows she had to hit, but then she has a lot of fun. I believe she probably will do something linked to the poster.
“I don’t know if we’re painting up camo-wise our faces, just because I still have terrible PTSD over when I used to paint my face, but I’d like to see our team kind of do something cohesive. That would be fun, even if it’s our own way of being cohesive, but we’ll see. We might show up looking dramatically different, whereas The Judgment Day is a fully functioning group of friends, they are legit friends, which is crazy. So we’ve got our work cut out for us.”
Rhodes’ PTSD comment is a reference to his days painting his face as Stardust prior to his exit from WWE in 2016.

Cody Rhodes, a prominent professional wrestler, is set to compete in the upcoming WWE Survivor Series: WarGames event. However, despite his face being featured on the event’s poster, Rhodes has stated that he will not be donning face paint for the pay-per-view.
Survivor Series: WarGames is a highly anticipated event in which Rhodes, along with Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso, will face off against their opponents inside a double-cage structure known as the WarGames. The event promises to be intense and action-packed.
In an interview with “Gabby AF,” Rhodes was asked if he would replicate the look from the Survivor Series: WarGames poster for the actual event. He explained that when it comes to his gear, he now entrusts his wife Sandra with the creative decisions. They have established brand guidelines that need to be followed, but Sandra also has the freedom to add her own creative touches. Rhodes believes that she will likely incorporate elements from the poster into their gear for the event.
However, Rhodes expressed some hesitation about painting his face again, citing his past experiences as Stardust in WWE. He revealed that he still has “terrible PTSD” from those days and would prefer not to revisit that aspect of his character. Instead, he mentioned the possibility of his team finding a different way to show cohesion and unity in their appearance.
Rhodes also acknowledged the challenge they face against their opponents, The Judgment Day, who are a group of legitimate friends. He emphasized that they have their work cut out for them but expressed excitement about the opportunity to compete against such a formidable team.
It is worth noting that Rhodes’ comments about his past experiences with face paint refer to his time in WWE as Stardust before his departure in 2016. Since then, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the wrestling industry and has been involved in various promotions.
