Cody Rhodes, the undefeated WWE Universal Champion, recently expressed his desire to see Conor McGregor try his hand at WWE, making the prediction that the UFC fighter would excel in the space.
In a fresh episode of “The Schmo” podcast, the topic of discussion veered towards the shared interests of WWE and UFC in TKO. During this conversation, the name of the Irish fighter McGregor surfaced. Rhodes had this to say,
“There’s one person I can think of who I’d like to see dip into the WWE world, and that’s Conor McGregor. The competitive environment in WWE isn’t what most folks might imagine… A competitor like him, who has fought in the grandest settings, perhaps it’s time to consider engaging with the more entertaining aspect of sports. I believe he’d do exceedingly well.”
Over the past few years, McGregor has engaged in online discussions with various WWE personalities, most notably engaging in a heated exchange with Paul Heyman in 2023.
McGregor even took it upon himself to challenge Roman Reigns to a match at WWE SummerSlam, however this match was never realized.
Ever since the inception of TKO, there have been promotional crossovers between WWE and UFC. For instance, Michael Chandler publicly challenged McGregor on an episode of WWE RAW back in February.
In recent past, Rhodes also talked about introducing the interim UFC Champion Tom Aspinall at a WWE live event. Click here to find out more.
