The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, has come out candid about his unique American Nightmare logo neck tattoo. He termed it as ‘ridiculous’ during one of his interviews.
Cody’s tattoo, which showcases a remarkable insignia of his, first grabbed eyeballs at the AEW Revolution 2020. Since then it has remained a topic of discussion and the subject of many memes ahead of his match with MJF, his former friend.
In a conversation on the podcast “Sneaker Shopping,” Rhodes made it clear that his tattoo might not be aesthetically pleasing to everyone. His words were,
“Seen the tattoo on my neck’s side? I’m the kind of person who enjoys making distinct and controversial decisions, and if it means wearing this… I’m all for. It might seem outrageous, but people tend to think ‘Oh, a neck tattoo…must be a conservative crackpot.’ Well, I’m simply a pro-America individual. Yes, we’re in chaos, but I’m pro optimism, pro hope. Don’t fret over America, look at this [shoe]… this is America. Here, everything is ok, don’t worry, we’ll be alright. We got good shoes.”
Brandi Rhodes, Cody’s spouse, confessed that she wasn’t fond of the tattoo when it was first revealed, but has grown accustomed to its presence.
Cody Rhodes seized the Undisputed WWE Universal champion title in a triumphant win against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. This marks his first reign as champion.
The forthcoming SummerSlam 2024 is all set to witness Rhodes taking on Solo Sikoa, designated as the new leader of the faction, previously led by Reigns. As per the schedule, Rhodes will be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title this weekend.
