CM Punk made his return to WWE RAW on Monday night to announce that he’s “home.”
In the main event segment, Punk cut a promo where he said while it may sound a little cheesy, he’s “home” where he belongs.
The Voice of the Voiceless referenced Triple H’s “hell has frozen over” tweet, saying it was true because he was standing in a WWE ring with a live microphone.
Punk went on to say that he appreciated the fans for never forgetting him and commented on how they kept chanting his name even when he wasn’t there. He continued to express his “love” for the fans and said he never wanted to leave in the first place, but a “wise man” once told him that “to get what I needed, I needed to leave and come back.”
As several fans chanted for AJ Lee, Punk noted that his wife is doing “fabulous” and “sends her regards.”
Punk ended his promo by saying that “almost everyone” in the back has welcomed him with open arms. He thanked everyone and said “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money!” as the show came to a close.
As you’d expect, there were no shots/references made to All Elite Wrestling due to the legalities involved.
