On the latest episode of WWE RAW on Netflix, CM Punk didn’t hesitate to take potshots at John Cena and The Rock in his initial monologue.
As he kicked things off, Punk didn’t mince words, labeling The Rock and Cena as “bald fakes,” he pointblank criticized The Rock for barging back into WWE as per his whims and fancies, notwithstanding his role on the Board of Directors.
Punk further denounced Cena for allegedly swindling his victory in the men’s Elimination Chamber match, and asserted that Cena had been misleading the young brigade along with others for quite some time. Punk made his intentions clear of dealing with both of them later on.
The sequence culminated with Punk challenging Becky Lynch to bring forth Seth Rollins in the ring, eventually escalating into a grand melee between Punk and Rollins.
During an interview on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray heaped adulation on Punk for his powerful and stirring promo.
Ray extolled, “Here’s the takeaway about CM Punk and Seth Rollins, superb, double thumbs up! Bursting with hoots and applause. A perfect curtain-raiser for Raw. Setting the rhythm just right – full of dynamism and turmoil. Just uncontrolled scuffling. It had my whole-hearted approval. At certain junctures, it seemed disconnected and uneasy. It was organic and very raw, and that’s exactly the part I adored about it”.
