To the surprise (and perhaps disappointment) of many, CM Punk has kept quiet since being fired from All Elite Wrestling in the aftermath of AEW All In 2023.
Nonetheless, Punk made his first public appearance since his firing during Friday night’s Cage Fury Fighting Championships event, doing commentary alongside his broadcast partner John Morgan.
As Morgan welcomed audiences to the show, he introduced Punk as his partner for the night, saying, “Look who I ran into backstage, he’s back, might I add, WITH CAUSE, CM Punk!”
This was obviously a sly reference to the termination of Punk’s AEW contract, which also happened “with cause.” You can check out the clip below:

Punk has not been seen announcing CFFC events since his return to AEW on the premiere episode of Collision from the United Center. The next time AEW would come to the United Center, Punk had been fired from the company just a little over four hours prior.
Notably, CFFC events air on UFC Fight Pass. The WWE-UFC of course completed their merger earlier this week. Under Endeavor, the new company is known as TKO Group.
