CM Punk, accompanied by Paul Heyman, is set for a Triple Threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in tonight’s WrestleMania 41 (Night One) main event. This clash of titans will take place at Allegiant Stadium located in Paradise, Nevada.
In a recent interaction with Daniel Cormier from ESPN, Punk shared his thoughts on seeing WrestleMania 41 as the ultimate chance to right the wrongs, particularly with having Paul Heyman by his side.
Heyman provided support as CM Punk’s manager back during his last WrestleMania match in 2013. At WrestleMania 29, Punk went toe-to-toe with The Undertaker but ended up on the losing side.
Punk expressed, “This main event, with Paul Heyman in my corner, feels like an opportunity we should’ve had back in 2011, 2012, 2013. It’s like I’m given a second chance. I’ve learned not to hype things too much and also not to underestimate the significant ones. There’s no doubt that this is of immense importance to me. The pain our business brings is too much for anyone to operate without caring, especially for me. I think I used to care too much, to an extent. But right now, it’s everything to me. Friends and family are reaching out, saying, ‘This is huge! Congratulations.’ It’s just overwhelming.”
He further elaborated, “When I am walking through O’Hare airport on my way home, strangers congratulate me on making it to the main event. It’s a wonderful feeling that has created a lot of pressure for me as an athlete. In the past, there were times when I had goals but fell short. Now, I’m just trying to soak in the moment.”
