During a recent interview with TNT Sports at UFC 298, CM Punk said he parted ways with WWE in 2014 as he was “burned out,” and explained why he eventually returned ten years later at Survivor Series 2023.

Punk said, “I think it’s just time. Timing is everything. I wrestled for a very long time before I signed a WWE contract. I was on the road for ten years, zero time off. That takes its toll. I think one of the things that I never did before was try to balance everything out. I think a lot of fighters, a lot of wrestlers do that. Balance is kind of key. But when you’re young and you wanna go and you have to take every opportunity that comes your way, you can’t say no. Then after a while, you burn out. So I burnt out 10 years ago. I left. I did some other things. I got to do a lot of cool other stuff and then time heals all wounds. You slowly start to realize that a lot of the stuff that happened 10 years ago doesn’t matter. Different people come and go. Different people are in charge now. Maybe I can go back and it kind of fits like an old slipper. It’s good to be back and I’m super happy it happened. The way I came back and how big it’s been never could have been what it was without all the other crap. That’s just life. I woke up this morning, so it’s a good day.”

Punk suffered a triceps tear at last month’s WWE Royal Rumble 2024 pay-per-view event. The injury has shelved him for six to nine months.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson officially joined The Bloodline this past Friday on SmackDown.

The Rock reacted to joining the group with a brief message on Twitter. He wrote,

He’s back. Greatness sins. Devil disrupts. Always speaks the truth. Even when he lies. Record setting crowd. Thank you SALT LAKE CITY. Mana. Energy. Eruption. Chills.

CM Punk, the former WWE superstar, recently opened up about his departure from the wrestling company in 2014 and his eventual return ten years later. In a recent interview with TNT Sports at UFC 298, Punk revealed that he left WWE due to feeling “burned out.” He explained that after wrestling for a decade without taking any time off, it took a toll on him both physically and mentally.

Punk emphasized the importance of balance in the wrestling industry, stating that many fighters and wrestlers strive to find a balance between their personal lives and their careers. However, when he was younger and eager to seize every opportunity that came his way, he couldn’t afford to say no. This eventually led to him burning out and deciding to leave WWE.

After leaving WWE, Punk explored other ventures and had the opportunity to do various exciting things. However, as time passed, he began to realize that the past issues and conflicts didn’t matter anymore. Different people were in charge, and he felt that maybe he could go back and fit in like an old slipper. He expressed his happiness about returning to WWE and acknowledged that the way he came back and the impact it had wouldn’t have been possible without all the previous experiences.

Unfortunately, Punk suffered a triceps tear at the WWE Royal Rumble 2024 pay-per-view event, which has put him out of action for six to nine months. This injury has undoubtedly been a setback for him, but it’s also an opportunity for him to rest and recover before making his comeback.

In other news, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a surprising appearance on SmackDown, officially joining The Bloodline. The Rock took to Twitter to react to his new alliance, expressing his excitement and gratitude towards the record-setting crowd in Salt Lake City. He referred to himself as the “people’s champ” and used powerful words like “greatness,” “devil disrupts,” and “always speaks the truth” to describe his return.

The Rock’s addition to The Bloodline has generated a lot of buzz and excitement among wrestling fans. It will be interesting to see how this new alliance unfolds and what impact it will have on the WWE landscape.

Overall, CM Punk’s candid interview sheds light on the challenges and pressures that wrestlers face in the industry. It serves as a reminder of the importance of finding balance and taking care of one’s well-being. Additionally, The Rock’s return to WWE has injected a fresh energy into the wrestling world, leaving fans eager to see what’s next for him and The Bloodline.
