In his illustrious career, CM Punk has participated in countless pay-per-view events, but surprisingly, it’s a regular television broadcasted event that he deems as his most remarkable performance.

During a recent conversation with Metro UK, Punk lauded his 2013 RAW match against John Cena as his pinnacle career performance. While reminiscing about the match, he noted,

“That’s probably the best match in my career. There was just an energy, and there was a buzz in the building. I think part of that is because I was just fueled by anger at that point in my career. It got me out of bed.”

Punk clarified that his extraordinary performance in this match was catalyzed by a mix of professional setbacks and personal health challenges. This further ramped up his determination in the ring.

“I had the flu, I had a fever, and I was just f**ing angry. I said, ‘Well, this is the main event of WrestleMania. I know you guys are doing that, but that’s what this is.’ So nobody could tell me anything, I did what I wanted.”

This pivotal match was designed to decide who, between Punk and Cena, would battle against the new WWE Champion The Rock, who had recently ended Punk’s 434-day reign, at WrestleMania 29.

John Cena, who emerged as the victorious participant of the 2013 Royal Rumble, secured his spot against The Rock by winning the match, whom he ultimately defeated at WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, CM Punk was left to contest against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, marking his latest appearance at the event. However, it appears that this is set to change this year.
