During his latest appearance on “WWE Deutschland,” CM Punk shared his thoughts on his long-awaited central role at WrestleMania 41, his observations of Cody Rhodes during the European tour and more. Highlights of the interview can be found below:
With regards to his main event at WrestleMania 41, he expressed enthusiasm and excitement. He referred to WrestleMania now being a two-night event as a broader opportunity for people to enjoy the unique atmosphere of a WrestleMania main event. He stated that he was thrilled to witness the growth and evolution of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins – two athletes whose career paths he had influenced. He also hinted at a triumphant return of his own, saying that he remained on top of his game while others may still be finding their way.
As for Cody Rhodes’ entrance during the European tour, he confessed to being emotionally touched by it. He recollected his 20-year friendship with Cody and underlined his admiration for Cody’s interactions with fans of all ages during his entrance. Seeing the crowd’s affection for Cody reminded him of the love he himself or other WWE legends like Stone Cold and Bret Hart used to receive, and it made him emotional.
On another note, former WWE superstar Kelly Kelly appeared on the “Fastbreak” podcast where she opened up about her audition for the role of a female wrestler in the forthcoming comedy sequel, Happy Gilmore 2. Despite the role going to another actor, she remained interested in future opportunities, particularly those in Los Angeles that involved elements of athleticism. Kelly revealed, “I have a manager who keeps sending me for auditions. I even tried for Happy Gilmore 2 when they were scouting for a female wrestler. Although the part was given to someone else, that doesn’t discourage me. Given the right opportunity, I wouldn’t mind doing something athletic, especially if it’s in LA.”
