As we previously reported here on eWn, CM Punk visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday to train and work with the NXT and developmental talents.
Fightful Select is reporting that Punk flew to the WWE Performance Center after being on RAW on Monday, making a surprise appearance which he was not obliged to do.
Punk was also backstage at Tuesday night’s NXT TV tapings, hanging out and providing feedback to the wrestlers on their matches. He reportedly spent most of the day at the world-class training facility and was willing to help anyone who asked him.
The Second City Saint was observing things from all around the facility including the gorilla position, the hard camera area, the tech crew, and so on.
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was a vocal supporter of welcoming Punk back to NXT, and according to those close to Punk, he didn’t take the endorsement lightly.
According to reports, Punk is welcome at the WWE Performance Center whenever he wishes to pass by. Everyone at the facility stated that Punk was a joy to deal with and there was a “massive” amount of genuine excitement regarding his presence.
Additionally, WrestlePurists is reporting that Punk’s long-term goal would be to succeed Michaels as the head of WWE NXT when the D-Generation X legend eventually steps down from the role.
However, any such possibility would not transpire for a long time as there are currently no plans for Michaels to wrap up with NXT in the foreseeable future.
