CM Punk Considered A WWE Return Last Year, Would’ve Feuded With Kevin Owens

CM Punk was fired from All Elite Wrestling this past Saturday and there has been tremendous speculation regarding his future in the pro wrestling industry.

Fightful Select is reporting that Punk’s peers were aware that he was considering a WWE return as a possible option last year.

Sources suggest that Punk was personally chasing the idea of leaving AEW last December with his sights set on a potential 2023 Royal Rumble appearance. However, there are no confirmed indications that either AEW or WWE was in support of the idea.

The rumors heard by WWE talent also mirror the idea and include further speculation that Punk would be involved in a WrestleMania 39 feud with Kevin Owens after The Prizefighter had eliminated him at the Royal Rumble.
