CJ Perry, previously known to be Miro’s wife, caught everyone off guard as she unveiled herself in AEW at the All Out 2023 event.
Following her unexpected arrival, AEW President Tony Khan was quick to make it clear that Perry’s participation was not tied down to an extended contract with the company.
The prior AEW and WWE wrestling star candidly conversed with USA Today, where she substantiated that she has wound up her tenure in the company. She mentioned, “[My] time with them has just finished.”
As for her future aspirations, Perry wants to keep pursuing a career in professional wrestling with an aim to match the accomplishments of Paul Heyman. In her words, “I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible. I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”
Perry’s last time on AEW was during the Worlds End 2023 event, where she instigated betrayal against Andrade El Idolo, her momentarily advised client, to team up with then-spouse, Miro. Following this, Miro took a break from television due to certain injuries while Perry was battling a MRSA infection.
Ahead in time, in March, it became known that Perry and Miro were considering legal separation. Details about Perry’s exit from AEW, which happened a few months ago, came to light by Fightful.
AEW affirmed Perry was among those who exited in April, however, the announcement wasn’t made public at the moment. According to the report, Perry initially joined based on an appearance-wise agreement but she went on to sign a full contract later.
Furthermore, due to injuries sustained by Perry and her on-air clients, any possible return to AEW was ruled out.
