Christian Casanova Debuts As Carmelo Hayes On NXT, Loses To Kushida In Cruiserweight Title Bout

Christian Casanova has arrived on WWE NXT.
The former independent standout debuted on the black-and-gold match under the new name Carmelo Hayes this week, and he challenged KUSHIDA for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

Though Hayes showcased his impressive athleticism throughout the match, he was no match for KUSHIDA; in the end, the champion made him tap out to the Hoverboard Lock. After the match, Kushida shook Hayes’ hand to show that the newcomer earned his respect.
Before he signed with WWE in Feburary, Casanova had competed all over the wrestling industry for promotions like Game Changer Wrestling, Beyond, and Black Label Pro.
