Christian Cage says ‘Out. Work. Everyone.’ is a catchphrase that is also represents the mindset he’s carried with him for his entire career.
Christian was this week’s guest on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette and spoke about his arrival in AEW and the inspiration behind ‘Out. Work. Everyone.’ He explained that the phrase was a result of a collaboration between himself and AEW, noting that he got a call on a Saturday night about the company wanting a shirt ready for his debut. He said he thought about his goal in the company, but it had deeper meaning that resonated throughout his tenure in the wrestling business.
“It’s simple, effective, it’s straight to the point. I think it embodies what my career has been all about and I’ve always felt like I have to go out there and prove that I outwork everybody. I’ve always gone to the ring with a chip on my shoulder and always felt that pressure of—whether it’s warranted or not—they don’t realize how good I am, and I have to show them tonight.’ And that’s just the mindset I brought with me,” Christian explained, “and it’s the mindset I bring with me now.”
Christian also said he wouldn’t be doing this if he didn’t have the confidence in himself to do it, and he’s coming back to prove himself to people. He feels like his body has been preserved in a way these past seven years from not taking bumps, and he feels good now that he’s had the proper time to heal.
AEW had audio issues with their broadcast this week but still had some very exciting developments following this past Sunday’s Revolution. Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle were destroyed by MJF and his new allies in FTR and Shawn Spears in a wild show-closing segment. Christian Cage made his Dynamite debut and teased a title match with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.
WWE NXT saw an incredible main event NXT Championship match with Finn Balor defeating the devious Adam Cole who was attacked by his former brother Kyle O’Reilly. NXT introduced the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships and even had a title change tonight too. Also as if that was not enough we are getting a 2-night NXT Takeover during WrestleMania week. WZ Wrap-Up covers all of this on this episode with Kevin Kellam and John Clark.
