“I think he has the potential to be a world champion. That’s the thing about what we’ve been able to do in AEW over the last four years is build so many names that came from basically nowhere into legit main-eventers. You talk about Sammy Guevara, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, and MJF, and all these types of guys. That’s something we knew we had to do right out of the gate because AEW became very popular very quickly. But, in order to sustain the popularity, you have to create as many stars as you possibly can. Britt Baker’s another, there’s so many too, Kris Statlander.”

AEW President Tony Khan also appeared on the podcast to share his thoughts on Mike Santana’s return.

Santana recovered from a 2022 knee injury and is scheduled to return for a singles match on tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage: Grand Slam.

Khan, however, didn’t clarify whether Santana will remain in singles action or compete in the tag team division with his former partner Ortiz. He said,

“Well, Mike Santana is a great wrestler. I really like Mike Santana. I think it’s definitely something, that he’s back in AEW, that we’re all excited about. I really am interested to see where he goes as a single now, if he’s going to be an individual and not part of this great tag team we’ve seen for such a long time, Santana and Ortiz. I think I’m interested to know where they each go as individuals. Certainly, it’s been a great situation as a tag team, but if it’s not sustainable, they’re two great pro wrestlers. So it’s something to keep an eye on for sure.”
