Chris Jericho To Tanahashi: ‘All The Questions Will Be Answered At The Tokyo Dome’

Chris Jericho has released a pre-match message to Hiroshi Tanahashi ahead of their Wrestle Kingdom 14 bout. In it, Jericho confirms that the New Japan star will get the opportunity to become the second-ever AEW Champion if he can beat Chris Jericho in the Tokyo Dome. He states that Tanahashi can “open the forbidden door” and “bridge the gap between the two biggest companies… from a fan perspective.” Jericho doesn’t think he can manage it, but he claims that the world does.
AEW’s relationship with New Japan may be on an upturn, with the Japanese promotion acknowledging the upstart league in the leadup to their biggest event of the year. With NJPW looking for a new partner in the US in terms of TV, we may just be seeing the beginning of a blockbuster partnership that will put the Wednesday Night Wars on a whole other level. All that or Le Champion walks out a victor and denies the fans countless dream matches.
