Chris Jericho Says Fozzy Won’t Be Stopped By Coronavirus, We’ll Perform ‘Unless The Cops Tell Us We Can’t’
Chris Jericho says the show must go on—the only way FOZZY won’t continue touring is if the cops tell them they can’t.
Jericho spoke with TMZ about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and said FOZZY will keep performing as scheduled. The coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused the rescheduling and cancellation of a growing number of events around the world, including New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s March slate of events. The AEW star referred to the public reaction as “mass hysteria” and replied to the cameraman with “why wouldn’t we go on?”
FOZZY is scheduled to tour from April through August, and Jericho said the only way the Fozzy shows won’t happen is if “the cops tell us we can’t.”
Earlier today, All Elite Wrestling issued a statement about the outbreak and noted all AEW events are currently moving forward as scheduled, but they will provide updates if there are any changes to the event schedule.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling canceled several more events this morning in response to the pandemic overseas. WWE has reportedly instituted a “no contact” policy at their meet-and-greet events, but WrestleMania 36 is still scheduled to take place as planned.
