WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green wishes her search for a new tag-team partner had lasted longer.
After Sonya Deville suffered an ACL injury, Green began taking video resumes on social media in search of a new partner.
Speaking to “Bleav in Pro Wrestling,” Green recalled receiving the submissions and wished ‘Chelsea’s Got Talent’ lasted longer. She said,
“I had so much fun watching those submissions come in. I wish it went on a little longer, but Piper’s here now.
“That was not my only idea. I had a list of about five or six ideas as I do for my pitches, as I do for everything, and when I threw it against a wall and it stuck immediately I’m like, ‘Okay, here we go.’ I don’t know if that was ever going to be on TV. That was just me. It was just me doing it. I never asked for permission.”
Green’s search for a new partner ended on the August 14, 2023, episode of RAW when Piper Niven declared herself as Green’s new partner and Women’s Tag Team Champion.
