On a recent output of his “Lex Expressed” podcast, Lex Luger gave his insightful thoughts about WWE’s decision of not allowing him to become a villain after Bret Hart’s victory at WrestleMania X. Even though Luger failed to secure a win in his title match earlier in the evening, he joined in the festivities when Hart managed to defeat Yokozuna for the championship. Luger explained,
“The idea was always for me to be a part of WrestleMania. I even considered the possibility of becoming a villain if Bret was chosen as the winner of WrestleMania, which would perhaps lead to an eventual turn for me. This idea came up during my negotiations to remain with WWE instead of moving on to the first Nitro. My desire was to stay with WWE and I had conversations about potentially changing to a villain and confronting Bret. I clashed with him at WrestleMania IX. Hence, Bret and I had some unresolved issues with Bret being the hero and me playing the villain. My thought was if Bret had a successful run as a hero, I could possibly turn heel due to disappointment and bitterness about SummerSlam [1993] and everything else. Even though I wasn’t really bitter, there was controversy regarding the countout and the premature balloon drop which could’ve led to some interesting villain interviews. My stint with Bret was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him as he is one of the greatest. That’s the gist of my feelings on the matter.”
Moving on to other news, WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green recently disclosed on Instagram that she plans to pursue legal actions against Zelina Vega following an unsatisfactory count-out loss on WWE SmackDown’s Friday night episode. Green referred to the outcome as unfair and stated that she has retained a legal team to contest the decision, insisting that her “supporters” deserve justice. Her post read,
“This is a formal announcement, The Crusifino Law Firm has been appointed to defend the legal rights of WWE Superstar and standing / initial WWE Women’s United States Champion, Ms. Chelsea Green (referred to as “Ms. Green”) in officially filing an appeal against the results of the match dated 4 11-2025, wherein Ms. Green was counted out under circumstances that can be deemed as procedurally dubious and competitively unjust.”
Based on professional evaluations, the refereeing in the match rushed through the standard ten-count, deviating from accepted WWE cadence norms and showed an evident lack of rhythmic consistency—a clear violation of WWE Officiating Bylaw Section 7, Subsection C, Provision 4A, which clearly states: “All in-ring counts must be delivered at a steady and impartial tempo reflective of standardized officiating pace guidelines.”
As such, we request that a formal review of the match footage be carried out and immediate actions be taken such as a compulsory counting cadence retraining session for the referee in question, to be conducted by Ms. Green.”
This serves as an initial caution: if such discrepancies in refereeing persist and continue to threaten the competitive integrity of Ms. Green’s championship reign, we will be obligated to consider additional legal remedies—including formal grievance filings and procedural injunctions.”
