Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have been teaming up in WWE recently. Last year, their partnership culminated in winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. In a recent interview with “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Green shared details about their relationship and their work experience together in STARDOM before their move to WWE.
Here are some key points from her podcast discussion:
On her previous collaborations with Piper Niven: Green said, “Few people are aware that when I was initially breaking into the industry, Piper and I lived together in Japan. Her guidance in STARDOM was invaluable to me, and I always admired her skills as a wrestler. I was thrilled to see her progress to NXT UK and subsequently get promoted to WWE’s main roster. It felt incredibly natural when they announced that we would be teaming up.”
Discussing the pairing with Niven: Green expressed her excitement saying, “For a tag team to function, there must be a strong foundation; otherwise, it’s a very shaky and awkward beginning. While I have had a prior rapport with Sonya due to Tough Enough, my bond with Piper is even stronger. I’m enjoying our journeys together, and it’s been a lot of fun contending for the tag team titles.”
