Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Charlotte Flair talks about how she has to drive to stand out of her father’s huge shadow. “I never have a hard time motivating myself. Being known only as Ric Flair’s daughter fuels my fire to keep working harder and becoming stronger.” Even if many still see her as someone riding on someone else’s legacy, Flair feels motivated to prove them wrong. “Being my dad’s daughter is a huge chip on my shoulder. I think that’s why I’ve had so much success—nothing’s ever good enough. I’ll continue to prove the haters wrong.”
Flair was talking to Sports Illustrated during a promotional tour for WWE 2K20, and she expressed excitement at this year’s choice of cover athletes. “Having Becky on the cover, the way she’s positioned in front of Roman, wearing her ‘The Man’ shirt, that sends such a positive message. I couldn’t be more excited for her, and I think it’s amazing.” She says that one woman doing well means that the division is doing well, and she hopes that she can do well by Rhea Ripley during their WrestleMania showdown in April.
