In the opening month of 2023, Stephanie McMahon relinquished her WWE duties in the aftermath of her father Vince McMahon’s reengagement with the company.

In June 2022, following the resignation of her father due to allegations of sexual impropriety and covert payments, Stephanie stood in as acting chairwoman and CEO.

By January 2024, Vince had resigned from his position as Executive Chairman of TKO due to a lawsuit initiated by Janel Grant, a prior employee, making accusations of sexual assault and involvement in sex trafficking.

Stephanie McMahon featured sporadically on WWE programs in 2024, including the monumental WrestleMania 40.

In a recent conversation on the “B4TheBell” podcast, Cathy Kelley, WWE commentator, shared her personal opinions on Stephanie. Keeping Kelley’s original words intact, “She really is an advocate of so many women. She is not the advocate, but she is an advocate for so many women and she is so versatile in everything that she has accomplished and has been able to do throughout her career. It’s a little bit of a detriment that we don’t have her there full-time right now, but I love her so much. She is the reason I came back. We had multiple conversations before I came back and she is the one that really encouraged me to come back. It was her being at the helm. Her and Triple H. They really took care of me the first time I was there.”

Cathy Kelley initially joined WWE in February 2016, but left in February 2020. However, she made a return in October 2022.
