Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams Defeat The Way; Hayes Confronts Tommaso Ciampa

The alliance of Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis lost their “way” against Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams due to a cheap shot in the main event of the 11/2 WWE NXT. The “A” team picked up the W, but not before the North American Champion confronted NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa came out to address the Capitol Wrestling Center and to make it clear that he’s the god of NXT (in reference to his “God of War” paint at Halloween Havoc), but was interrupted by Hayes to say that he is the “A” champion in 2.0. Trick came to hype up Hayes some more and that got him a strike from the Sicilian Psychopath. As Ciampa left the ring, former DIY partner and rival Johnny Gargano shared a stare and grin with Tommaso before the main event got underway.

The crowd was very much behind Lumis and Gargano as they, Williams and Hayes put on solid striking main event, but it was Hayes who capitalized during a referee distraction as he slugged Lumis with a boot and hit a top rope Fame-Asser for the win, therein ending the episode.
