In a thrilling development on the latest WWE SmackDown episode, Carmelo Hayes emerged victorious, igniting discussions of him potentially earning the moniker of the ‘Legend Killer.’
During the week’s SmackDown, Hayes triumphed over Randy Orton and Tama Tonga in a fierce triple threat. His win gained him entry into the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, a significant event.
In a conversation during the ‘SmackDown Lowdown’, Hayes reflected on his win and hinted that ‘Legend Killer’ might be an apt label for him moving forward. He expressed,”Indeed, I did defeat Randy Orton. However, Kayla, were you expecting something else? I’m Him. This guy here is a 14-time champion, and known as a legend killer. I’m pondering whether I should adapt the moniker of a legend killer.”
Randy Orton carved out his ‘Legend Killer’ status in the early 2000s, infamous for his attacks and victories over renowned wrestlers such as Mick Foley and The Undertaker, among others.
Looking forward, the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 event is set to take place next month in Toronto, Canada. This marks Hayes’ debut in the characteristic match. The episode of SmackDown LowDown discussing this can be seen in the video below.
