Carmelo Hayes has big plans for his tenure on WWE SmackDown after being called up to the blue brand as part of the 2024 WWE Draft.

On a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” Hayes spoke about his goals for SmackDown after facing Cody Rhodes last week. He said,

“I feel like I’m just so ready to put the rest of the SmackDown roster on notice. I’m so much hungrier than a lot of these guys. A lot of these guys have been up there for so long, they’ve been getting paid for so long they’re comfortable.

“The one thing you can’t be around Carmelo Hayes is comfortable or complacent because I’m coming for it all, like I did in NXT. I took everything, and I plan to do the same thing on SmackDown.”

Hayes isn’t the only former champion called up to the main roster. Both Ilja Dragunov and Lyra Valkyria were drafted to RAW during the draft’s second night.

The new rosters will be locked in with the May 6, episode of RAW, which will be WWE’s first TV show following this weekend’s WWE Backlash: France pay-per-view event.
