One of the late great Butch Reed facts is that “The Natural” loved Will Hobbs and the young Powerhouse plans to have “Hacksaw” covered.

Bruce “Butch” Reed unfortunately passed away today at the age of 66 after heart complications and the wrestling world came together to honor the late legend who influenced so many stars both new and old. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer happened to share a sentimental fact about Reed’s feelings regarding the up-and-coming Will Hobbs.

“Bruce Reed’s family reached out to Will Hobbs to tell him that Reed loved him but never told him that personally and told his family “That’s the new Hacksaw” when he saw him on television,” Meltzer Tweeted out.

Powerhouse has sure lived up to the complimentary comparisons as he’s been a viable force as a member of Team Taz on AEW Dynamite and Hobbs was certain to tip the cap to the late star of Doom by letting the world know he’s going to carry on the legend’s legacy.

Reed indeed displayed that he was a “powerhouse” of his own not only in NWA and WCW, but very notably in Mid South Wrestling as both a heel and a face where he feuded with the likes Junkyard Dog and Jim Duggan over the “Hacksaw” moniker. Reed even wrestled Ric Flair to a one-hour time limit draw during his Mid-South tenure.
