WWE/TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer Bully Ray was beyond excited to team with Sting when the pair worked together a decade ago as part of TNA Wrestling.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Ray discussed the recently retired AEW wrestler and shared his experiences working with the Icon. He said,
“I turned into a little kid all over again. I turned into a wrestling fan because it was me and Sting versus the Aces and Eights in a tables match. I’m in my dressing room, and I said to myself, ‘Wow, how cool would it be if I could come out painted up like Sting?’ I was like, ‘Screw it, I’m just going to go ask him.’ [I] knocked on his door, walked in, I go, ‘Will you paint me up?’ He looked at me, and he smiles. He goes, ‘Hell yeah.’ [I got] goosebumps.
“It’s such a perfect moment in time. You could see the excitement in my eyes and on my face to be able to be standing next to this guy doing our entrance together.”
While Bully Ray was thrilled to team with Sting against the Aces & Eights, the storyline would later reveal that Ray had been the mastermind behind the biker gang.
At TNA Slammiversary 2013, Bully Ray retained his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Sting in a No Holds Barred Match.
