“When you look at Randy Orton’s contemporaries, his fellow wrestlers that came up started with him in his day; John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Seth, Mox all of these guys seem to have bigger personalities than Randy.  Randy being the best pure pro wrestler out of all of them.”

Ray continued, “What did we get when we got Randy Orton? We got a great pro wrestling match, a technical pro wrestling match, a guy who was so smooth, so on his game, but there was nothing else there, there was no depth to Randy.”

Bully Ray Shares Perspective on Randy Orton’s Comeback to WWE

During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray, also known as Bubba Ray Dudley, shared his perspective on several topics, one of which was Randy Orton’s comeback to WWE at Survivor Series 2023. Orton, who had been recovering from back fusion surgery, will be participating in the Men’s WarGames match.

Bully Ray, a former professional wrestler himself, expressed his thoughts on Orton’s position among his contemporaries. He mentioned that wrestlers like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose) seem to have bigger personalities compared to Randy Orton. However, Ray acknowledged that Orton is the best pure pro wrestler out of all of them.

Ray further elaborated on his point by stating that when fans watch a Randy Orton match, they can expect a great technical pro wrestling match. Orton is known for his smoothness and precision in the ring. However, according to Ray, there is a lack of depth to Orton’s character and personality outside of his wrestling abilities.

This perspective raises an interesting discussion about the different qualities and attributes that make a wrestler successful in the industry. While some wrestlers may have larger-than-life personalities and captivating mic skills, others excel in their in-ring abilities and technical prowess. Randy Orton falls into the latter category, being widely regarded as one of the best technical wrestlers in the business.

It is important to note that wrestling is a diverse art form that encompasses various styles and approaches. Some wrestlers may rely heavily on their charisma and mic skills to connect with the audience, while others focus more on their in-ring performances. Both approaches have their merits and can resonate with different types of fans.

As wrestling fans, we have the privilege of enjoying a wide range of talents and personalities in the industry. Randy Orton’s comeback to WWE after his recovery from back fusion surgery is undoubtedly an exciting moment for his fans. Regardless of the perspective on his character depth, there is no denying his skill and contribution to the world of professional wrestling.
