Professional wrestling veteran Bully Ray has recently given his opinion on who he thinks could be considered the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ – Ric Flair or John Cena. This comes as speculation circulates around Cena’s upcoming decision to retire from active wrestling.
Cena and Flair are both tied with 16 recognized World Championships, leading to much debate over who ranks superior in the history of the sport.
Bully Ray voiced his perspective on this matter on a recent segment of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. He shared his beliefs on where these two juggernauts stand amongst wrestling’s luminaries, stating,
“Ric Flair can be crowned the greatest professional wrestler of all time, having seen international success. As for John Cena, in my opinion, he holds the title of the greatest WWE Champion of all time… Unless proven otherwise globally, making the proclamation of being the greatest, in any aspect of life or sports, falls short.”
Bully Ray also shed light on Cena’s looming retirement and his hopes for Cena’s final showing. He expressed,
“It’s my wish to see John Cena’s final bout against the reigning world heavyweight champion of that particular night. Even if Cena were to be defeated, he should make his exit in true champion style, battling for the world heavyweight championship.”
In related news, Cena confirmed at WWE Money in the Bank that he would be concluding his in-ring career in 2025, with WrestleMania 41 marking his last appearance as a contender at the iconic event.
