Renowned wrestler, Bully Ray, has articulated his desire for Roxanne Perez to remain in WWE NXT a tad longer prior to potentially being boosted to the main roster.
During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, the revered ECW legend shared his views on the current WWE NXT Women’s Champion, expressing his inclination for her to stay in WWE NXT for some more time.
Here are some key points from the podcast:
On his reluctance for an immediate elevation of Perez to the main roster: “As it concerns Roxanne Perez moving onto the main roster, I’m uncertain… Unless there is a concrete plan, it could spell calamity. There are times when you get just one opportunity to make a significant first impression on the main roster.”
On the advantages of Perez spending more time in NXT: Do I consider she’s ready? I don’t believe it would harm her to linger in NXT for a while longer. I would prefer to see her stay there, furthering her comfort in the ring, improving her psychology, her promos, her character. Then, when someone from the creative team says, ‘We have a substantive and definitive vision for Roxanne, we want to promote her. And on her debut night, we aim to create a memorable moment, here’s her storyline for the upcoming three months,’ that would boost my confidence about her promotion.”
#DIY will be given another chance for the WWE Tag Team Championships when they compete against The Street Profits on the forthcoming Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown. They also featured on the “Smackdown LowDown” to provide a sneak peek of the match.
Below are some highlights from the show:
Gargano on their quest to retain their titles: “The previous Friday was meant to be my life’s best night but it turned out to be the worst. We lost the titles that we have strived for all our careers in front of my wife, family, and son in my hometown, Cleveland, Ohio. Byron, you should realize that such an event alters you. The Bloodline took something that rightfully belongs to us. Our names are still etched onto the titles. That’s our property. Tonight, I made a vow. I swore to everyone that my team and I are committed to regaining our property no matter what.”
Ciampa’s thoughts on their impending faceoff with the Street Profits for the title: “You brought up The Street Profits. We’re familiar with them for over a decade. I was acquainted with Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford even before The Street Profits were established. The upcoming match is a first-timer. It’s also the decider for our WWE Tag Team Titles. But the most delightful part? It’s in Orlando, Florida, where both, the Profits and #DIY, carved our names in WWE history. It’s special. And we don’t have to remind Profits; they know it too well. So, let’s meet next week and clash, in the spirit of black and gold, for the first time.”
