In a recent episode of the popular “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame inductee Bully Ray teamed up with Mark Henry to express admiration for Shelton Benjamin’s performance alongside MVP at AEW’s WrestleDream 2024 event.
The podcast spotlighted key instances from the show, which are highlighted below:
Bully Ray gave a critique of Benjamin’s showmanship at AEW WrestleDream, commenting: “Shelton Benjamin doesn’t often get many speaking roles. His tone was deep, and it revealed a menacing, intimidating facet to his character. The heightened intensity surfaced in the dialogue with Swerve, and subsequent physical conflict. I was particularly struck by the forceful shove Swerve delivered to Shelton Benjamin. That moment deserves to be analysed separately.”
Furthermore, Mark Henry shared his insight on Benjamin’s appearance at the event, saying: “I was intrigued. The situation escalated rapidly, and Shelton’s conflict resolution skills, referred to as the ‘complaint committee’ by MVP, were brought to light. I enjoyed the part when he kept his cool but also prepared for the ensuing brawl. It could have come to the point where he retaliates with his own shove, which might have resembled the iconic Mike Tyson and Steve Austin faceoff.”
