Bully Ray has expressed his excitement about Kamille’s arrival in AEW.
On a recent episode of the “Busted Open After Dark” podcast, Ray shared his thoughts on last week’s AEW Dynamite episode, where Kamille, a former NWA member, made her debut alongside Mercedes Mone.
Check out some key points from the podcast below:
Regarding Kamille’s debut, Ray commented, “It’s fantastic seeing Kamille. I have high anticipations for her. Based on her performance in the NWA, she has certainly established a solid reputation.”
When discussing Kamille’s notable NWA Women’s World Title run, he expressed, “It’s always great when you’re a one-time champion, meaning you’ve never lost the title before. In contrast, as a 24-time tag team champion, we lost 23 times, which was less than stellar.”
Ray also expressed his hopes about how AEW would handle Kamille’s transition, stating, “I am keen to see Kamille establish her presence first. I want her to command the same stature as Chyna did back in the days when one wanted to be taken seriously.”
On the delay in Kamille’s TV appearance on AEW, he commented, “If someone were to tell me they delayed her appearance because it was planned, I’d say it was too long. Even though I was thrilled to see her tonight, the crowd didn’t echo the same sentiment. This might be because Kamille’s prior exposure was only through NWA, and honestly, it’s been quite minimal.”
Looking forward to Kamille’s future in AEW, Ray suggested, “I am hopeful that AEW brings its audience up to date regarding Kamille’s accomplishments and her formidable credibility. She should be established as an unstoppable force. As far as I am concerned, no one, not even Britt Baker or anyone else in that AEW female dressing room, should have the ability to touch Mercedes Mone. If anyone comes too close, Kamille should just swat them away like she did with Britt Baker.”
