In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray shared his thoughts on a variety of subjects, including the Blood & Guts match that was featured on this Wednesday’s airing of AEW Dynamite.
Ray agreed that the match was highly captivating, but felt that the conclusion could have been better. Here are some notable comments from the podcast:
Regarding the match itself, Ray noted: “It was very entertaining…I comprehended the psychology behind the conclusion. Plenty of first-time callers to After Dark who were present at the arena voiced their disappointment with the way the match ended… There were obvious murmurs and grumbles within the crowd.”
In terms of the unsatisfying conclusion, Ray stated: “It lacked sufficient drama and suspense. The element of surprise or shock was missing, since he was too far away. You need to bring the audience to the brink and then snatch it away from them.”
Reflecting on the overall experience of the match, Ray remarked: “I did not believe the ending was dull enough to tarnish the excellent hour of action. I also appreciated their use of psychology in the match such as Hangman not descending during his entrance and Swerve being unexpectedly ambushed in the aisleway and handcuffed.”
Tommy Dreamer also joined the “Busted Open Radio” podcast to share his reactions to Kamille’s debut on the AEW Dynamite episode. Below are his thoughts:
Regarding Kamille’s introduction, Dreamer said: “Kamille is a highly remarkable, powerful-looking woman. It’s logical to use her as a hurdle for Mercedes Mone, placing an obstacle in Dr. Britt Baker’s path … Kamille, ex-NWA Women’s Champion, has tasted significant success. I am intrigued to see how this association evolves, because these alliances often turn bitter. But for now, it’s a fantastic strategy for Mercedes Mone, who is deeply rooted in her ‘CEO’ villain character. I found it entertaining.”
Dreamer also highlighted how Kamille’s involvement could provide a plausible reason for Britt Baker’s defeat to Mone, explaining: “It’s a perfect strategy to avoid crowning Britt Baker as the title holder, and attribute her loss to external interference. This could also pave way for a potential Kamille vs Britt Baker match, which could prove to be highly interesting.”
