Bully Ray: Matt Hardy’s Empty Arena Debut Fit His Broken Character

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray praised AEW’s debuts on Dynamite last night, particularly Matt Hardy’s. Despite the challenges of working major story angles in front of no audience, Bully thinks that it worked in the case of the Broken One. “I think Matt Hardy debuting last night in front of no people was just as impactful as debuting in front of a full house. It kind of fits Matt Hardy.”
He imagines that the pop will be huge when Hardy does walk out in front of a crowd, but the piano music and a quiet debut fit the tone that Matt has created with his videos over the years. Furthermore, Bully thinks that AEW is in touch with the wrestlers on their roster and that the company will let Hardy “push himself to the moon.”
