WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray commended Konosuke Takeshita’s exceptional performance in the Triple Threat Match for the AEW International Title during an episode of the “Busted Open After Dark” podcast. The match took place at the AEW WrestleDream 2024 event and saw Takeshita emerge victorious after defeating Will Ospreay and Ricochet.

You can find key excerpts from the podcast below:

Bully Ray spoke about his wishes for AEW to revitalize the careers of Brian Cage and Lance Archer: “Don Callis appears in the ring tonight with Tony Schiavone. He’s joined by Archer and Cage. One of my hopes is that we inject some energy into the careers of Archer and Cage, as well as some other larger wrestlers. Kyle Fletcher and Takeshita were also present. Takeshita is quite intimidating in size.”

Discussing who stood out in the Triple Threat Match at WrestleDream, Bully Ray pointed toward Konosuke Takeshita: “I had a conversation with Callis in the morning about what makes Dexter unique. I personally believe that Takeshita was the most valuable player of the triple match at WrestleDream. Callis indicated that people often overlook how large Takeshita really is, as well as his ability to perform such impressive feats at that size. I admired Takeshita’s ability to stir up the crowd’s excitement while speaking Japanese on the microphone.”
