In the latest episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast series, WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray, shared his thoughts on the closure of the fight between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles during WWE Clash at the Castle event in Scotland.
Here are a few memorable takeaways from the podcast:
Speaking about the climax of the match between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes: “The mere intention was enough for him to surrender. The image of terror in AJ’s eyes as Cody prepared to brutally attack him with the steps is deeply embedded in my mind. This impromptu ending was greatly received by the audience. Imagine yourself being handcuffed to the ropes or turnbuckle as someone threatens to smash your face with a solid steel ring step, of course, you would opt out.”
Discussing the incident where Cody attacked AJ Styles using the steel steps, Ray opined: “I wasn’t exactly thrilled by Cody hitting AJ with the steps; I believe it was unnecessary. However, I find myself fond of the moment when Cody returned the steps to their original position, and climbed on them, while being cheered on by the crowd singing his song. I would have preferred if they hadn’t played Cody’s theme music, and simply let the audience chant it.”
