During a recent episode of the popular “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame member Bully Ray and presenter Dave LaGreca delved into a discussion about Vince McMahon.

Bully Ray drew parallels between McMahon and the sports teams the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He proposed that McMahon encompassed the same characteristics as George Steinbrenner and Jerry Jones combined, well-known for sourcing any talent they desired and becoming the focus for all those who wished for their downfall.

He elaborated, “Dave, who are the two most polarizing sports teams in all of professional sports. The entire world wants to defeat the Cowboys and the Yankees. Even if the Cowboys are underperforming, you still yearn to defeat America’s team. Even if the Yankees are falling behind, you still crave to conquer the empire. This has been the state of affairs forever because of their notable triumphs, and everyone just wants to be the one to topple them. All these attributes can be seen in Vince McMahon. He was like the Yankees and the Cowboys combined, and everyone out there aspired to overthrow him because the general notion is Vince brought down everyone else.”

On another recent edition of his podcast, “Lex Expressed,” former WWE/WCW star Lex Luger discussed his career arc and his late on-screen rival Yokozuna.

High points from the podcast include:

Lex spoke about Yokozuna: “His effort was commendable; he was an exceptional torch bearer for the company, which is why we referred to him as ‘The Showstopper.’ When that music played and he stepped out with Mr. Fuji? That was it – the show was virtually over, that’s why we called him ‘Showstopper’ behind the scenes.”

Commenting on Yokozuna’s agility despite his size, Lex said, “He was huge, but my goodness, he was incredibly agile! Those island boys? They are extraordinarily athletic.”
