Bully Ray: Cody Rhodes’ Promo Was ‘As Close To Perfect As You Can Get’

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray is a big fan of Cody Rhodes’ mic skills. Talking about his promo from AEW Dynamite last night, Ray had high praise for it on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio.
“It was as close to perfect as you can get for that fanbase,” said Bully Ray. “You listen to the crowd, he said all the right things and took all the right shots at Jericho. He described AEW as Ellis Island for pro wrestlers where they can experience freedom. I thought that was a phenomenal line. He laid out the stipulation, what this match means to him. He talked about his mom, his family. He all of the perfect points.
“I think the biggest compliment someone can pay Cody … is that Cody’s promo makes me want to buy the pay-per-view … When a fan makes a fan want to spend money on anything then they did their job. We’re in the selling business, we don’t just sell in the ring. We sell our product, our merchandise. Dusty 101 says sell, sell, sell. Not just in the ring but on the microphone. Constantly be selling … that’s what Cody did last night.”
