Bryan Danielson Retains Over Kazuchika Okada, Saved By Wheeler Yuta On AEW Dynamite

A five-year anniversary extravaganza of AEW Dynamite saw Bryan Danielson preserve his AEW World Champion title in a face-off against Kazuchika Okada. Danielson won via pinfall, however, this victory came after Okada’s AEW Continental Championship was no longer at stake, as the 20-minutes period for it had elapsed.

Despite this, Danielson was able to achieve a favourable balance in their mutual win-loss record, thus placing Danielson at 2 victories and Okada at 1.

Performance celebrations were cut short when Jon Moxley, joined by Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and PAC, launched an onslaught on Danielson immediately post-match. The latter trio restrained the reigning champ while Moxley unveiled another cryptic message.

“You think this is about me? Huh? Is that what you said? You think any of this is about me?! Let’s get something through your simple-minded, blueberry picking little brain. None of this is about me! None of this is what I wanted. I’m fighting for something much bigger than myself. Everything I’m gonna do is cause I have to, cause no one else will. No one else can. If any of this was about me, I’d have put you out of your misery years ago.”

Fortunately, Wheeler Yuta arrived just in time to thwart any further harm to Danielson by intervening and wields a hammer to ward off the adversaries.

A public brawl ensued, with it being evident that Castagnoli only sought to shield himself from Yuta’s attacks without launching a counterattack of his own.

Securing the microphone, Yuta enounced, “Claudio, Pac, I am sick and tired of the two of you treating me like a child. I’m not a child. I am my own man. I can make my own decisions and I can fight my own fights. And speaking of fights, next week, Title Tuesday, if the two of you want to get to Bryan Danielson, you’re gonna have to go through me, too.”

Danielson seconded this, announcing that the forthcoming AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday would pit Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta against PAC and Claudio Castagnoli.
