In a recent interaction with Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson shed light on his success in the Owen Hart Cup tournament during the previous episode of AEW Dynamite. Here are some noteworthy takeaways from the conversation:
As regards what he admires about Owen, Danielson elucidated, “Growing up, Owen Hart was among my favourites, which makes this victory profoundly meaningful. The tales of his dedication to his family are truly inspiring. He was travelling almost 300 days a year, and yet he would always make it a point to secure that extra day at home – that’s incredibly touching. Did he excel as a professional wrestler? Undoubtedly. And from what I hear and see from his promos, he was quite the entertainer. But what I really admire and look up to is how he prioritised his family.”
Danielson reflected on missing last year’s All In show: “It was a real blow last year when I couldn’t participate in All In. I sat at home and watched more than 80,000 people in the crowd. Now that this is my final year on the ring full-time, this feels as if it’s culminating all those years of effort.”
Speaking of Swerve Strickland, Danielson praised, “Swerve’s set a standard as an exceptional champion. His match with Ospreay left me astounded. The talent and skill they both wielded were bewildering!”
Meanwhile, an upcoming AEW Dynamite is scheduled at the brand new Fishers Event Center in Fishers, IN on December 4. The center, which can accommodate approximately 7,500 spectators, is due to open in November and will launch an ‘Opening Series’ of events, including Dynamite.
In related news, the inaugural line-up of events at the new facility was recently announced by FishersEventCenter.
