Full-time wrestling is expected to lose one of its stars, Bryan Danielson, who has recently stated his intention to retire later in the year.

As part of his departure from the ring, Danielson has planned to grace the Owen Hart Foundation Cup competition. The victor of this prestigious event will secure the opportunity to contend for the AEW World championship during the AEW All In tournament. The wrestler addressed this in an interview with the Washington Post.

“My tenure as a full-time professional is set to conclude this year, allowing me to be more consistent and available at home for my children. As they are at that age where they desire my presence – a phase that’s fleeting. I want to cherish that enchanting time before they grow older. This constant absence isn’t only tough on my kids, but also my wife since she’s not just a homemaker – a demanding role in itself – she manages three enterprises on top of her own work in the wine tasting arena in Napa”

In addition, Danielson expressed the sentiment “The most challenging aspect of stepping back is how passionately I still feel about wrestling.”
