On a recent edition of his “Something To Wrestle With” podcast, WWE executive Bruce Prichard claimed that Shawn Michaels helped establish John Cena as a top Superstar with their WWE Title match at WrestleMania 23.

Prichard said, “Shawn and Cena, I thought that on that night, Shawn made Cena the man. I really do, on that night. I think Shawn was there for everything. It also just showed me…man, John Cena was up four days in a row every shoot, everything you can possibly imagine for that event. Oh my god, he did [prove himself].”

Cena defeated Michaels to retain the WWE Championship at the pay-per-view event.

WWE and UFC were merged into TKO Group Holdings last year, and Josh Barnett discussed potential crossover opportunities between the two brands on a recent edition of the “Stories With Brisco & Bradshaw” podcast.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the possibility of a UFC and WWE team-up: “There is definitely something that can be done there. I just don’t know that there’s that person that can fully integrate or make use of it, outside of guys showing up at each other’s events in the crowds, which that’s good. It’s publicity in and of itself for each individual promotion, but how do you really capitalize on that?”

On ways the company could find synergy between the brands: “I think on one end, maybe the intention is just that people think of them of being in the same market so to speak, and so they can do things like have each other’s athletes show up and stuff, or have people make guest appearances to talk about or be on camera. But really, it’s just about a portfolio around investment instead of anything else. But…being a guy that does both and sees both as being really part of the same system, yeah I’d like to see how that could be better exploited for the athletes and for the promotions themselves.”

Mansoor had one of his first big matches for WWE at Crown Jewel 2019, and he recalled the infamous flight delay afterward.

On a recent edition of Konnan’s “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Mansoor recalled the Crown Jewel 2019 pay-per-view event, and you can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his match with Cesaro at the show: “While I was at the show, people kept telling me, ‘Hey this match you have, it’s really important, don’t screw it up.’ There was a lot riding on this match, and I didn’t know until after; apparently, there was a dispute between WWE and the Saudi Sports Authority regarding the TV rights to showing the show… Vince himself said that this has to be a WrestleMania-level match.”

On the reason for the flight delay: “My opinion is that, allegedly, the Saudi government can do whatever the hell it wants. [laugh] Listen, I gotta go back and make a ton of money touring the Middle East, so I’m choosing my words carefully.”
