Bronson Reed would rather be the next World Heavyweight Champion than be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns, according to the Australian.
At WWE Night of Champions, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins will face off for the title, which has been introduced as the answer to Reigns’ sporadic schedule.
Instead of defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Reigns will team with Solo Sikoa to challenge Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens.
During an episode of the “Out of Character” podcast, Reed was asked which would mean more to him: being World Heavyweight Champion or dethroning the Tribal Chief. He said,
“I would say be the first [World Heavyweight Champion.] Just because once you’ve done that, there’s no one else that can ever say they could do that.”
“I love it [the new title’s design.] I was a big fan of the old, big gold one. And, you know, I’m a huge Dusty Rhodes fan. So that throwback to that sort of lineage is great.”
Bronson Reed is currently not booked for WWE Night of Champions, which will take place on Saturday, May 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
