WWE NXT’s inaugural episode on The CW Network will feature Trick Williams challenging Ethan Page for the coveted NXT World Championship, playing out on the 1st of October, Tuesday. Added excitement comes in the form of special guest referee, CM Punk. The event will take place at Chicago’s renowned Allstate Arena.
In an exciting turn of events, Trick Williams did not hold back when speaking with PX11 News, critically calling Page an ‘imposter’ champion. Williams articulated his thoughts powerfully by saying,
“Ethan Page is what I like to call a impostor. He infiltrated our brand maybe just a few months back, and pilfered my title. Now, the time for retribution has arrived. He’ll face us in Chicago on October 1st, and it’ll be a title match.”
Williams didn’t stop there, adding, “This marks the first appearance of our CW premiere, so everything is at stake, and there’s everything to win. I am here to embody NXT, and can’t wait to show that on October 1st.”
In an interesting conversation with 99.5 WKDQ, Bron Breakker reflected on his loss of the WWE Intercontinental Title to Jey Uso during a WWE RAW event earlier in the week, and hinted at a potential rematch.
In a few extracts from the podcast interview:
On his future plans:“I am uncertain about what lies ahead. I am always ready to face anyone, but right now things seem quite blurred. I guess only time will tell.”
On the possibility of a rematch with Uso, given the choice:“I believe, yes. It was my championship, and I should be given a shot at a rematch. Generally, that’s how things unfold. We’ll see, I can’t be sure. If I am needed elsewhere or if another opportunity arises, I will respond promptly.”
